The 16th Federal Congress on National Urban Development Policy was framed by side events organised by selected hosts on the first day of the congress. The vhw e. V. played a substantial role in shaping the supporting programme with its well-attended event ‘Key concept of resilience: designing neighbourhoods, cities and rural areas with a view to the future’ on a topical issue. After a welcome by Prof. Dr. Jürgen Aring (Chairman of vhw e. V.), Prof. Dr. Christian Kuhlicke (Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ) presented concepts and challenges of urban resilience in his keynote speech and made it clear that this is a cross-cutting task.
