About the event

On 10 December 2024, the Sustainable Urban Development Network in Hesse invited participants to Frankfurt am Main to share their experiences. Around 50 participants gathered to take part in the event ‘Urban Resilience – How are our cities preparing for the future?’ and to network with each other.


Our cities and communities are facing enormous challenges today: climate change, natural disasters and social changes require us to come up with creative and forward-looking solutions. The central question of how we can make our communities resilient, adaptable and crisis-proof is more relevant than ever. It is becoming increasingly clear that climatic, structural and social changes are having a profound impact on urban coexistence.


Benedikt Sauer from the Sustainable Urban Development Network in Hesse opened the event and presented the varied programme. The event was attended by municipal representatives from all three urban development funding programmes as well as the funding area…
