Only what is real remains

ree

I've been meaning to write this post for a long time because the topic has become increasingly important in recent months. I don't know who hasn't already noticed, but our world is changing a lot at the moment. Everything is getting faster and things that used to last for a long time are becoming less and less important. I attribute this mainly to social media, which is where a lot of our social lives take place these days. We message back and forth, but may never have met the person in person. We feel like we know someone well through the posts, but in reality we don't. Nothing against social media, for me it's one of the biggest sources of inspiration myself, but it's about how we deal with it today and the impact it has on our lives.

I have noticed that reels are becoming faster and faster. Images are now often displayed for less than a second and the brain can no longer process this sensory overload. We follow people with whom we have no relationship, often with the idea of building up our own number of followers. There is no real interest in the other person. And if you don't follow the other person, you will be unfollowed yourself. The posts that appear are clicked on within milliseconds without seeing the work behind them. There is endless consumption and the mind can no longer process it all. I am firmly convinced that this is not good for us and that we bring input into our lives too aimlessly. We lose focus and become distracted as a result. Everyone has a certain amount of intake capacity for each day, which we certainly use up for the most part. And that means we lack energy for the things we want to achieve in life.

The new emergence of artificial intelligence is very important. We can now actually get the support of AI for everything. Be it the evaluation of databases, the writing of texts or the creation of images. Artificial intelligence filters out the important content for us within a short space of time and gives it to us ready to print. I'm still fascinated by how well it all works. At the same time, we are feeding a huge data collection machine that is learning more and more about us every day and has actually already overtaken us. Where will this lead? I don't know, but many of us are very concerned about it. Nobody can yet describe the extent of the development for the future.

But there is one thing that will become even more important next year. And that is: What is real? If artificial intelligence can write our posts in the future, create our photos and even speak with our voice, how will I know what was actually created by a human being and what was not constructed by an algorithm? I think we can no longer tell the difference because the level is simply too high.

And now we come to the other side, to the opportunity and also to our task. We can ask ourselves what kind of world we want to live in? I want to live in a world where human creativity is still of value, where people raise their own voices and read texts that come from the heart. And I want to listen to original voices, I want to experience real emotions and not shallow perfection. I want authenticity and not illusion. I want humanity. You now have the opportunity to decide what you want and what values you stand for. Many people just let it happen without thinking about what it means. And I also believe that it will be more about surrounding ourselves with people we trust and who are a real inspiration to us. For social media, that means I follow profiles where I trust the people and their content is genuine. And I distance myself from what is artificial. Because looking up to an illusion or dealing with an artificially created reality on a daily basis can't be healthy for our minds.

I can tell you that since I've been thinking about it, I've decided that it's particularly important to me that you know that it's real here and will remain so. I want to stand for authenticity, honesty and trust, because anything else doesn't hold water for me. Because I want to inspire people to go their own way and I can only do that by showing the real life and not an illusion. Let's pay even more attention to this in the coming year and celebrate real life with real people and creativity from the heart!

What does authenticity mean to you? Who and what do you want to be influenced by in your life? What impact do you think consuming artificially generated content has on your life? What content is good for you? Which is not good for you? Do you live yourself authentically? What do you want to stand for? What does this mean for your behavior on social media? What steps do you want to take?
